The entirety of the late 80s and all of the 90s was one news story of "former golden boy" Robert and his constant arrests and drug rehab stints. Mel Gibson supported his sobriety and personally paid for Robert to be cast in his 2003 film The Singing Detective after Robert finished his last round of court ordered rehab. No studio would hire him and NO INSURANCE AGENCY would write bond for him to be on a movie set. Mel Gibson paid for all that. Without Mel, Robert would not have the career he has today, and very likely wouldn't have maintained sobriety. If Robert Downey Jr didn't stand by Mel it would speak far more about HIS character rather than Mel's character.

The reason he was having financial problems, from what I've heard in other reports, is that he refused to get a job to pay for his education while trying to get a music career started. The lack of accountability he took is stagering. He was a friend of mine in high school and we went to the same church as well as had a speed metal band together. North Carolina School of the Arts changed him big time. He was always a good guy so I don't want to totally and bag him, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get by. Most of us have had to work jobs we can't stand, but that's how you make money.

They evidently have a marketing strategy to push a player on their fans to try and diminish the importance of fans wanting to see R&C play, so they pulled a snake out of the grass bait and switch move and decided to scrap broadcasting the game altogether while stripping you of your seven dollars. Then they had the mitigated gall to give you a message after they clip your dollars to tell you this game won't be televised, but you can catch the Fever game for free....dam arrogance is unbelievable.
